We’re back! Summer on the Philly Waterfront officially kicks off May 7 through May 9.

Join us for an action-packed weekend with the safe return of Summertime favorites such as roller skating at Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, and tons of new exhibitions at Cherry Street Pier. Get ready for the best Summer yet!

Please Note: Construction for the exciting Delaware River Trail is happening along Columbus Boulevard. The project is making headway and will result in a stunning multi-use trail that will increase accessibility to the Waterfront. The trail is scheduled for completion in Fall 2021.

Tasty food from The Garden RestaurantFrench Toast Bites, and Rita’s Italian Ice, and amazing new exhibitions and performances from Cherry Street Pier to Race Street Pier await you. Join us for the following experiences:

  • Ed Marion’s Fat Man, Smiling: The second Cherry Street Pier exhibition by resident artist Ed Marion is a series of  120 self-portraits made over a 40-year period showcasing Marion in various seasons of his life. Made through good times and bad, they are the residue of the performance of sitting before a mirror and trying one’s best to see who one really is. On display through May 30.
  • Portside Art Center’s Mother’s Day Family Workshop
    Make a special gift for the amazing women in your life with Cherry Street Pier resident artist Portside Art Center on Sunday, May 9 from 1 pm to 3 pm. Register today!
  • PA Ballet’s Spread Your WingsPennsylvania Ballet’s Spread Your Wings in partnership with Mural Arts is a dynamic display of photography, video, an indoor mural, and live performances to inspire creativity and personal engagement with dance and storytelling. On display through June 6.
  • John Schlesinger’s After The Fall Exhibition Extension
    Noted installation artist John Schlesinger remakes and reimagines the tiny room under the Pier’s DJ booth as a super-concentrated hallucinogenic reanimation of After the Fall. See this installation now before it changes dramatically over the next month.

Race Street Pier — EVENT POSTPONED UNTIL MAY 16
Enjoy School of Rock Philadelphia’s Rock on the River. This high-energy afternoon of live music, performed by students from the Philadelphia School of Rock on Saturday, May 8 as they take over the adjacent Race Street Pier and show off their amazing talents in this Spring showcase.

Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest
Show off your moves on the largest outdoor roller rink in Philly, savor refreshing drinks and mouth-watering eats such as Crabfries from Chickie’s & Pete’s and piping hot Funnel cake from Skelly’s Amusements, hit the Midway for mini golf, carnival games, or soar through the air on the Gravity Storm Bungee Jump and the Ferris wheel. Plus, join us for the Opportunity for Entrepreneurs (OFE) Market on Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm.
