Memorial Day Weekend on the Philly Waterfront

May 28–30
2021
Heads Up! There will be no fireworks on the Philly Waterfront Memorial Day Weekend.

We’re kicking Summer into high gear with an activity-filled lineup for Memorial Day Weekend on the Philly Waterfront.

Enjoy roller-skating with amazing views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and Delaware River, boardwalk games and rides, hammocks, art exhibitions, markets, and outdoor dining with food and drinks that will delight the taste buds.

Spend your extra-long weekend with us!

Please Note: Construction for the exciting Delaware River Trail is happening along Columbus Boulevard. The project is making headway and will result in a stunning multi-use trail that will increase accessibility to the Waterfront. The trial is scheduled for completion in Fall 2021.

Cherry Street Pier
Tasty food from The Garden Restaurant, French Toast Bites, and Rita’s Italian Ice, and amazing new exhibitions and markets at Cherry Street Pier await you. Join us for the following experiences:

  • Liberty Flea Market: Shop vintage and artisan vendors and browse a collection of unique vendors from the Philadelphia area.
  • Ed Marion’s Fat Man, Smiling: Resident artist Ed Marion showcases a series of 120 self-portraits made over a 40-year period featuring Marion in various seasons of his life. Made through good times and bad, they are the residue of the performance of sitting before a mirror and trying one’s best to see who one really is. On display through May 30.
  • PA Ballet’s Spread Your Wings: Pennsylvania Ballet’s Spread Your Wings in partnership with Mural Arts is a dynamic display of photography, video, an indoor mural, and live performances to inspire creativity and personal engagement with dance and storytelling. On display through June 6.
  • Twenty Twenty – Twenty Twenty One: Mixed-media artists Evan Greensweig, Aaron B. Cohen, and Lucy H. West exhibit works created in their Philly studio in 2020 and 2021. The pieces document these tragic times, yet reflect each artist’s emotional exploration of tragedy and the necessary introspection needed to nurture a fruitful future in a scarred world. On display through May 30.
