DiasporaDNA Kinkeeping Summit & Holiday Market

Saturday
November 21
2026
Location: Cherry Street Pier
Time: 11am to 3pm

Join DiasporaDNA Story Center for the first-ever Kinkeeping Summit—a free, family-friendly celebration of the people, stories, traditions, and relationships that keep our families and communities connected.

Kinkeeping is the intentional work of keeping family and ancestral connections alive—staying in touch, tracing our roots, preserving stories and traditions, and making sure our families, communities, and diaspora’s place in history isn’t forgotten.

Experience a day of connection, culture, and community through a variety of engaging activities. Enjoy a community drum circle, explore family history and archiving, and participate in reunion and ancestry roundtables. Celebrate the opening of In Diaspora…, create and preserve memories through photo scrapbooking, and discover Black history and world culture through exhibits from the Montgomery Collection. Gather, remember, and connect across generations while enjoying mindful Waterfront walks, curated conversations, recipe swaps, and delicious snacks.

What to Know Before You Go:
Parking on-site will be limited due to construction on the I-95 CAP. However, there are many great ways to access the Waterfront, including walking and biking along the Delaware River Trail, rideshare, and public transit. To ensure a seamless visit, guests can visit the Know Before You Go guide for parking recommendations, directions, FAQs, and more.
