Proximity: A Street Photography Exhibition at Cherry Street Pier

Step into the photographer’s point of view at Proximity, an immersive street photography exhibition curated by Sammy Rivera at Cherry Street Pier.

Opening Reception: October 2 | 6–9 pm

Featuring work by Public Ledger members Dan Eshleman, Eric DeJesus, Fernanda Gándara, Mekhi Greene, Nazir Wayman, Roshan Basil, and Sammy Rivera, the exhibition takes photography beyond the frame. Each artist’s photograph is recreated as a life-size, diorama-style installation, with elements printed to scale, cut apart, and arranged in 3D space.

The experience puts visitors in the photographer’s shoes, showing just how close each artist was to the people, places, and moments they captured. Proximity also explores how street photographers engage with their communities and surroundings while creating their work outside of traditional studio spaces.

This exhibition is part of The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA’s) POST programming.
