Playfest 2025: Great Game Day hosted by PopUpPlay
Ready, set, play! Celebrate creativity, movement, and family fun at PLAYFEST 2025: Great Game Day, a free, interactive event at Cherry Street Pier, hosted by PopUpPlay.
From giant board games and craft-your-own game pieces to robot-building and puppet shows, this festival is packed with playful experiences for kids (and kids at heart).
The event is free and open to the public, but guests must RSVP.
Activities are subject to change.
PopUpPlay Stations:
- Make Your Own Game Piece – Craft your own player piece to use during the day
- Decorate Giant Game Boxes – Think LIFE, Candyland, and other classics
- Build a Carnival Game or Mousetrap Machine – Big builds. Big imagination.
- Minecraft Cardboard Build – Bring your Minecraft world to life in IRL!

- Giant Connect Four
- Giant Jenga
- Giant Chess
- Giant Boggle
- Giant Tic Tac Toe
- Giant Legos
- Giant Spinner Board Game (play as a family using your custom game piece!)
Classic Playground Games:
- Hopscotch

- Brooklyn Robot Foundry – Build your own robot
- National Kids Gym – Obstacle courses and movement play
- Smith Memorial Playground – Catch the Play Bus
- Playful Learning Landscapes Action Network – Surprise STEM activities
Live Entertainment:
- Digger and David Puppet Company – Puppet show + walkaround (2:30–2:50 PM)
- Philadelphia Dance Academy – Mini Nutcracker performance (3:00–3:05 PM)
- DJ Frost – Spinning fun tunes all afternoon
Parking on-site will be limited due to I-95 CAP construction. However, many great ways to access the Waterfront include walking and biking along the Delaware River Trail, rideshare, and public transit.
