ALTER/ALTAR: Exhibition by Kara Mshinda
Cherry Street Pier presents ALTER/ALTAR, a solo exhibition by Resident Artist Kara Mshinda, on view in the Terrace Gallery from November 7–30, 2025. Free and open to the public.
Blending photography, collage, drawing, and experimental processes, Mshinda explores how “happy accidents” can transform images into new stories. Her work examines identity, representation, and freedom, turning photographs into sacred spaces of vision and discovery.

About the Artist
Kara Mshinda investigates the relationship between photography, representation, and identity. Her practice draws on graffiti handstyle, intuitive drawing, and grounded theory, with works featured in exhibitions that explore the contemporary feminine gaze.
Exhibition Hours
Sunday–Thursday: 12–9 PM; Friday: 12–11 PM; Saturday: 11–11 PM
