ACANA Festival part of the PECO Multicultural Series

Join us for the 16th Annual ACANA African Festival at Cherry Street Pier on August 4 from 2 pm to 8 pm, part of the PECO Multicultural Series. It is FREE and OPEN to the public. All ages are welcome.

Don’t miss the largest African festival on the East Coast, which celebrates the culture of the African diaspora with music, food, and vendors.

ACANA FEST 2024 will feature a diverse lineup of African music performances, globally inspired cuisine, and unique crafts from various African vendors.

This year’s music lineup includes chart-topping performances from two of Africa’s finest musicians: Awilo Longomba, a Congolese musician and a prominent figure in African music, and JZyNO, a rising Afrobeat artist known for his dynamic sound and infectious rhythms.

Additionally, the festival will feature Tunde Success, a Nigerian master of the talking drum; Wazumbians, a vibrant Ghanaian music group; and performances from top-notch Philadelphia-area talent such as Sharon Katz and The Peace Train, with their South African sounds, and the Camden, N.J.-based Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble.

Attendees can expect various cuisines, including African, Jamaican, Soul Food, vegan/vegetarian, Mexican, tropical beverages, and more.
