Performing Statistics’ No Kids in Prison
Join us for the No Kids in Prison exhibition on display from May 20 through June 11 at Cherry Street Pier.
Performing Statistics, Care Not Control, Mural Arts Philadelphia, and more than 50 youth leaders from across Philadelphia are collaborating to create a series of interactive public artworks that use new technology to imagine a more just, whole, and safe future.
The central installation will feature monumental portraits of young adults impacted by the juvenile justice system that come alive through augmented reality (AR); animations triggered by viewers‘ phones will visualize a future world in the clouds above Philadelphia. Featuring a city–wide constellation of 170ft tall banners, billboards, temporary murals, and an immersive exhibition, this rare project will transport massive audiences to a future where all youth are free, healed, and thriving. This exhibition is part of the larger citywide exhibition – Freedom Constellations.
