Resident artists Orchestra 2001 is bringing performances to Cherry Street Pier this fall that you won’t want to miss. And the best part? They’re FREE!

Friday, September 20
7:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Revel in the sounds of Orchestra 2001 as they perform works composed by Pulitzer Prize-winning Philadelphia composer George Crumb and inspired by African-American spirituals featuring mezzo-soprano Chrystal Williams . Following the performance, the audience will have the opportunity to play instruments that represent Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Movie Monday Screening
Monday, September 30
6:30 pm
Join us for a free screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey (G) , hosted by Orchestra 2001 with a special musical performance of Andy Akiho‘s “Stop Speaking” before the film.

Track End (World Premiere) POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING 2020

2 pm, 3 pm, and 4 pm
Celebrate the power of percussion as Orchestra 2001 musicians play on the railings, trash cans, and shipping containers in The Garden with surprises along the way. Stay for all three performances featuring works by composer Rene Orth.

 

Free and open to the public.
Dogs on leashes are welcome.
Cherry Street Pier is a smoke and vapor-free zone.
